Journal Quilts 2013

The 2013 JQ challenge for the Contemporary Quilt Group

Make a quilt each month of the year - 12" x 8" - horizontal orientation - pick a theme

Theme: Leaves
I have chosen to work to a very strict colour scheme. Black, white, teal and gold. This design is very much about balance and esthetics. All the backgrounds and leaves will be different.

January - Eucalyptus
February - Ash

March - Beech

April - Oak
The background is pieced and quilted, before the leaves and squares are fused and free-motion quilted in a sketch like manner.
Cotton sateen, silk dupion, silk organza and florist lutrador.

Thanks a lot Tricia, I have missed blogging and felt very guilty not doing so...... A bit silly on my part.

Loving these - they're 'my' colours.
I have also decided it's time to get back to blogging - so just catching up on your last year posts - congrats on your C&G!

Thank you, Terry.

As you know, it can be extremely difficult to get back after a long break of blogging. Much better to keep up weekly or even monthly. I'm glad to see you back too.
