Festival of Quilts 2013 - CQ Horizon Exhibition

Contemporary Quilt Group's challenge Horizons 50cm X 150cm [aprox. 20" by 60"]

43 quilters took part and I think it was a lovely space we were given.

My quilt 'Vazon Bay' second from left

On the table are two of the three sample books
We all had to provide a sample as well as the quilt, the samples being sewn onto some stiff material and put in a binder. These are for the visitors to handle and are very popular.

Great variety and very high standards. I'm so proud to belong to this group.

I think that the organisers had done a fantastic job of both the hanging order and the sample books.

My quilt second from left 'Vazon Bay' and third from left 'Vanishing Point WA6014' by Robbie Le Poidevin

It was amazing that they were hung next to each other just as on my design-board in my studio.
Almost spooky.

Robbie being interwiewed by Bonnie McCaffery for one of her wonderful vidcasts.
I was next...............

A very popular exhibition

Always a proud moment when visitors look at your work

That's me there photographing one of the books - don't remember doing that

I thought so but she is more "famous" than I am.

Yes, there will always be quilters more "famous" than we are. I happen to know her - took a class once - very good.

And I really appreciate you comment, "famous" or not. :D

PS - I now follow your blog too.....

Hi Tricia,
Yes, my textile group has been invited back to The Coach House in October 2014 - and we are all going to make a quilt based on one of my husbands photos.
We also had an exhibition earlier this year on the island and I see from your blog that you have been here........ Would have loved to show you my studio and have a great chat!
